Influencing Policy
Influencing Government policy is a key strategy for EU Skills.
It was highlighted as a priority by our employers throughout
our Sector Skills Agreement consultation.
On a UK wide basis, EU Skills responds to priority policy
initiatives and consultations and
monitors political activity.
This is in order to:
- Give our employers a stronger voice and improve recognition of our role and engagement with our sector;
- Be seen as the influential voice when a view on skills in our sector is required;
- Attempt to influence government on policy matters of particular interest to our employers, before they become agreed policy.
EU Skills' internet site has a page detailing all current UK consultation exercises that have relevance to our sector and all consultation responses that have been submitted by EU Skills. A dedicated email account (responses@euskills.co.uk) has been established and employers are invited, by way of the web page, to submit any views they might have or to indicate where we should be responding to consultations that are not listed on the EU Skills web page.
