Energy & Utility Skills have a dedicated team of staff
in the field, this Skills Solutions team operates
across the Nations and Regions with a clear
remit to build employer and stakeholder relationships.
The team is passionate about brokering and
collaborating with employers and stakeholders in particular when
the partnership is results and employer driven with real outcomes.
It is also important to understand the distinct differences in the Devolved Nations and English Regions, Each Devolved Nation and Region have their own unique Skills policy and or vision for the future.
It is vital that the Skills Solutions team align both our employers and stakeholders with Government strategies/policy, particularly if we require Government intervention.
Working with Employers
- Collaborating with employer to increase productivity with highly skilled employees
- Providing effective information, advice and workforce development brokerage and services to employers
- Provide effective information advice and guidance to employers and stakeholders to support informed choice
- Strengthen the employer voice, provide greater employer influence
- Create and establish quality provision to access appropriate training to up skill the workforce
- Collaborating with employers on qualifications and learning
- Partnering employers to build a compelling business case to promote investment
- Working with employers to access funding support for individual and employer training activities
- Partnering employers to establish robust industry intelligence
The Skills Solutions team have now established a presence and sound reputation in the Nations and Regions and across the skills landscape.
This reputation has been achieved over the past 4 years , working with Employers and Stakeholders to implement and deliver our Sector Skills Agreement.

- Collaborating with FE and HE to establish leadership and management programmes to meet employer need
- Building the capacity and expertise to deliver high quality services aligned to sectoral and employer needs
- Development and utilisation of work based learning and increased skills in the workplace
Working with Stakeholders
- Develop and build solid relationships with key stakeholders
- Contribute to Governments policy consult and influence
- Advise and recommend to Government
- Collaborate with Stakeholders to undertake cutting edge research
- Maximising leverage for bespoke funded solutions
- Partnering Stakeholders to increase employment and productivity offering good jobs and career progression
- Working with Government to influence skills policies to best support sustainable employment
